A spectacular migration and entrepreneurship that took place about a hundred and seventy years ago created a legacy in many possibilities of the Hulkul family life.


M. Muniyappa one of the entrepreneurs from the Hulkul family, was the first to establish a plants and horticulture business, which was named as M. Mooniswamy and Sons, as early as in 1845. It was a pioneering effort in the horticulture and floriculture business in Bengaluru City. M. M. and Sons were into collecting rare-quality flowers, vegetables, fruits, gardening seeds, and saplle them. It was also a pioneering effort in exporting them across India and abroad in British India.
